Start your trip with an idea.
A concept of what you want to achieve.
Learn to live in the moment. Plan no more than the next step.
Be open to change; be spontaneous. Don’t create an itinerary. Don’t be rigid. Forget the location. Enjoy the journey. Let your trip unfold and take it’s own form.
Go with the flow. Go against the flow.
Travel should be stimulating. Stay in a location if you feel good. Go if you feel too comfortable. Don’t stagnate.
Reconnect with people you meet on the way. Be impulsive.
Use your free time, of which you will have in abundance, to further yourself, intellectually, creativity, emotionally and physically. Read, write, study, play, create. Normal life does not afford this quantity of free time. Make the most of every second.
Make cheap living the norm. Make luxury splurges a rewarding counter balance.
Chase experiences rather than ticks.
Talk to the locals. Befriend the locals. Do as the locals do.
And end your trip when it no longer feels like the right thing to be doing (or you run out of money!).
